Product Description
Amifostine isused to prevent dryness in the mouth after radiotherapy of head and neckcancer. It is also used to reduce the harmful effect of chemotherapy on thekidneys during treatment with cisplatin (medicine used to treat cancer).
Amifostine is given as an injection intovein (IV infusion) under the supervision of doctor. Your doctor will decidewhat dose is necessary and how often you need to take it. This will depend onwhat you are being treated for and may change from time to time. You shouldtake it exactly as your doctor has advised.
